Player Information

Format:                                 The championship is conducted at 36-hole stroke play. All players, regardless of gender, will play from the white tees (approximately

                                                5,364 yards).  Each team must return two individual 18-hole scores per day to qualify for the team championship.  If there are more

                                                than two players on a team, the best two will be used for the team score each day.    

 

Prizes:                                   Trophies will be awarded to the championship team; all members of the championship team, the individual boys' champion and the

                                                individual girls' champion.  Any ties for these positions will be broken by an on-course playoff as soon as the need is identified. 

                                                Players are responsible for making themselves available for any playoff they maybe involved in.

 

All-State Awards:               The top 6 in the boys’ division and the top 6 in the girls’ division will be award all-state middle school award for 2009.

 

Rules:                                    USGA Rules will govern play.  Local rules will be distributed at the starter's table.  Use of tobacco products by competitors is prohibited.

                                                Each competitor must walk and carry his or her own bag (pull carts are allowed) during the stipulated round.

 

Caddies:                               Caddies are NOT allowed.

 

Pull carts:                             Players are allowed to use pull/push carts.

 

Coaches:                              A team may designate one person to act as a coach, and that coach will be allowed to give advice between the play of two holes only.

                                                Each individual may have one person designated as the coach.  Identification tags will be issued    and worn by each coach.

 

Spectator carts:                  Spectator carts will be available at a rate of $15 per person.  Carts must remain on cart path at all time.

Hotels:                                   The Badin Inn has some rooms available for this event.  Please contact the resort for availability and pricing. 

                                                The Hampton Inn in Albemarle, NC (about 7 miles from club) is offering a rate of $85 (plus tax) for reservations made by September 15th.

Championship Schedule:

September 14-24

Course open for practice.  Practice rounds are available at $10 per player.  Coaches must call club to schedule

practice round.

 

Friday, September 25                                 

First round.  Tee times will begin at 8:00 am off #1 and #10 tees.

Lunch for players and team coaches after round 1.

 

Saturday, September 26

Final round.  Tee times will run from 10:30 am - approx. 3:00 off #1 only. 

Awards following play.
