TGF JUNIOR MEMORIAL SET FOR MAY 29-30

The Tarheel Golf Foundation is pleased to announce that the 2010 Junior Memorial Tournament will be played at National Golf Club in Pinehurst, NC over Memorial Day Weekend, May 29-30. The Junior Memorial Tournament is held each year and honors a person, or organization, that has contributed to the growth of junior golf. National Golf Club offers the only Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course in the Sandhills. It has been included in Golfweek’s Top 50 courses and listed as a top 100 golf course by Golf Digest. National Golf Club has been host to several professional and key amateur golf tournaments, including PGA Tour qualifying in 2001 and 2001. This summer, National Golf Club will host the AJGA Golf Pride Classic. Entry for this event is now open at www.tarheelgolf.org.

CALLAWAY JUNIOR WORLD QUALIFYING

AJGT Event Selected For Joe Cheves Junior Qualifying Criteria 

The Amateur Junior Golf Tour (AJGT) has been awarded one boys qualifying criteria event for the eighth annual Joe Cheves Junior Invitational @ Mimosa Hills in Morganton, N.C. on Sept. 11-12, 2010. The JCJI selection committee will award an Invitation to the following:

Overall boys champion  AJGT event at the CC of Whispering Pines (May 1-2) *

* Event must have 25 or more boys playing from the championship yardage to receive invitation

AMATEUR JUNIOR GOLF TOUR LAUNCHES PRESTIGE TOUR

     There are many junior tours throughout the country in which juniors may participate; however, AJGT felt it was time to have a special series designed for Middle and High School players. AJGT will offer Middle and High School players approximately 60 spots at each tour stop.   Tournaments will have a PGA tour atmosphere at each event. Players and Parents will be treated as special guests at each AJGT tour stop. The “Prestige Players Tour” begins in August of each year and will include 10 events through May of each year. AJGT will host the “AJGT Tournament of Champions” in May of each year open to all junior tournament winners across the southeast. The entry fees will be economical and lower than most major junior tours serving the Carolinas. Tournament play will take place at some of the finest courses across the Carolinas.  Web Site

Atlantic Coast Junior Golf Tour Joins Forces with a National Affiliate Champions Junior Golf Tour Association and Youth Golf of America.

     The Atlantic Coast Junior Tour would like to announce the association and eventual move to Champions Junior Golf Tour Association.  After many months of consideration the ACJT has decided to join forces with Champions Junior Golf Tour Association and Youth Golf of America. With this move come many advantages for our members that we haven’t had in the past.  Some advantages are travel and accommodation discounts for our members and we will have a Non Profit status that will enable us to provide green fee discounts.  Other benefits are the points system and national ranking with college recruiting assistance, and multilevel events with all skill levels and competition levels.
